“Queen’s Elixir” is a product and brand that combines the health benefits of spice and locally produced honey into an experience that is meant to transport the user to another time where spice was used for medicine. This project started off with the goal of creating an experience through spice that has not been seen before. Through research and stakeholder interviews I chose to focus on the medicinal use of spice, blended with honey, and the experience of using a secret “elixir” to cure you of whatever is ailing you. After prototyping many different combinations, I arrived at 4 to correspond to the four seasons, inspired by the four humors. The final product resulted in a brand and experience that intrigued, informed and engaged the user at each stage of the experience while considering pain points and opportunities to improve the experience overall.
